Daryl’s review published on Letterboxd:
The Lost Daughter is Maggie Gyllenhaal's directorial debut, and it seems to be getting a lot of buzz. Strong direction here, the storytelling seems intentionally awkward at times, and it works. For me, the pacing was a little off in the back half of the film and the payoff was what I expected. However, Olivia Colman was extremely good, alongside a couple of supporting turns in Jessie Buckley and Dakota Johnson. Huge promise here.
