This was wonderful. The animation is BEAUTIFUL; it’s held up so well after 30 years. A terrific fantasy and adventure movie that has an underlying sense of sadness, as Kiki struggles to find her way in a big city, where she is all alone. Kiki is one of my fav characters in any animated movie that I’ve seen. Kiki’s Delivery Service is my very first Ghibli movie, and it was just a tremendous movie that had a surprising depth of emotion. I’m deciding which Ghibli to watch next: Nausicää or Howl’s Moving Castle.
