Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

I have so much to write so buckle up. The size of my review meets the size of this film.

Y’all remember how big this movie was? Or was it just 12 year old me? It is big though. In every sense of the word. The massive sets, the apocalyptic battles, the expansive cast list, and the massive scope of the story... the budget too probably. Yeah, it had all the opportunity and goodwill to become the greatest third installment…

The Beatles are my favorite band of all time and because of that... I may have been overhyped about this movie but I found it to be disappointingly adequate.

I think this movie could have been so much more. The story is just engaging enough to pass the time but ultimately offers little else than the narrative you know about a guy that gets big in the music business.

This movie is educational, has a good message for children, and features good voice work and animation. The plot is decent. It has Bill Murray in it. And it’s honestly very very creative.

Definitely not the glory that I remember but a fun and inventive 90 minute romp nonetheless.

    A Few Good Men

This is a movie with so much momentum and such captivating storytelling. Every single word and every single scene furthers the plot. Of course, this is peak Aaron Sorkin... and peak Rob Reiner, and peak Demi Moore. Round that all out with prime performances by Nicholson and Cruise, dash in a bit of courtroom drama, and you got the recipe for an all-time film and another prerequisite.

The original perfect film by one of the greatest directors of all time. I can’t believe I had never seen this until this morning. What was wrong with me?!?

Honestly this has everything one loves about Tarantino and it’s already perfect despite it being his debut.

Truly what gets me, and what I think he should consider for future films, is the runtime.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

This is one of my favorite movies this year. It is filled with some of the best scenes and performances of 2019. In fact, this might feature the best performance in any Tarantino film (DiCaprio as Dalton). Still, it’s not perfect like some of QT’s other work and certainly benefits from a lack creativity or hype in 2019 cinema.

It also features some of the realest and most round and developed characters I’ve seen in a long time.

    If Leo…
