I remember the day I knew I had found an angel thrown from the sky. Caught in the crowd, and from afar or up close, all I noticed was you looking back. I remembered the softness of your words, they felt almost timid, anxious, reserved. The cold was everywhere but between you and me it was nothing but a thousand degrees and a sweltering intimacy that was so delicate and totally our own, our breaths mixing into a light air grand and celestial.
You were the most beautiful creature, with your eyes sparkling like the stars you called home, and that hat you didn't feel like wearing that looked gorgeous on you anyway. And now, every time I see you, from right where I am to across the longest floors, I'll remember that day, and feel the melting of the frost welling up in me.
