Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse ★★★★

Maybe it's the fact that it's a piece of animation at its most fluid and vibrant and illuminating, constantly in motion and smoothly orchestrated almost like a dance through every set-piece that practically bursts with a comic panel vintage and clean innovation, or the fact that it's one of the most spirited and full and energized comic book movies on the market, driven with a verve and a humor and a love for the source material that (let's be honest) most movies like this don't have, or maybe it's the fact that it's probably the first Spidey flick to be built from and centered around the beautiful diversity and acceptance that the "anyone can be a hero" idea promises us, the exciting potential that the concept of being something bigger than who we are brings us and how great of a feeling that is to share, a sensation that hasn't been handled with such magnitude and intensity before, but something about this movie is just so, so good.
