Carson Hearne’s review published on Letterboxd:
Wow... I watched this film for the first time at the age of 13 or so. Back then, I thought this was an overrated bore that was Kubrick's lamest film. Now, I realize that I just didn't have the patience to allow this film to put me into it's enthralling trance of beautiful visuals (some of the greatest visuals to ever grace the screen), wonderful music, and intense as well as immensely gratifying storyline that doesn't hand out answers to the viewers. The HAL sequences scare the hell outta me, especially with our gradual reliance on technology, today. Some of the visuals in this film are astounding when realizing this film came out almost ten years BEFORE Star Wars, yet it makes Star Wars somehow feel outdated. Pure brilliance, if you don't like this film, give it a few years and you'll learn to appreciate how groundbreaking this film truly is. Kubrick never seems to disappoint.
