Just didn’t hit for me. Very slow, didn’t feel attached to the characters, thin plot, felt like everything was forced. Cinematography is dope though.

Better than expected, but something just felt off. Penn and Walken are great. A lot of work being done in long looks and close ups, which is great. However, something about the editing and quietness of it made me lose interest, and I lost the plot toward the end. Probably worth another watch.

Picked a weird time to unwittingly watch a movie about abortion from 1957. I would add during a pandemic, but it looks like the move was released before influenza really took off in 1957.

  • Everything Everywhere All at Once

The last movie I watched was The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and it has the exact same movie theater visual gag. And they’re both about parents connecting with their children and family and all that shit.

  • Margin Call

    Margin Call

I’m only half-way through this, but it’s like being at a wake for some asshole you didn’t even know and listening to people talk about how he nearly killed them. If I didn’t know a shit ton about 2008 already, I’d have been lost in 15 minutes and this movie would have been a DNF.

Finished: Okay, fuck this movie. It feels like it was written by someone who knows dick about the 2008 financial crisis. Jeremy Irons’ little spiel…

  • The Adam Project

    The Adam Project

    ★★★½

Again, people shitting on a Ryan Reynolds movie for reasons I don’t quite understand. The biggest gripe I’ve seen is “It’s Ryan Reynolds playing Ryan Reynolds.” Okay, you can say the same thing about De Niro, Bill Murray, Elisabeth Moss, and basically every comedic actor ever.

It’s a heartfelt sci-fi/action comedy. Does it excel at all those things all the time? No. But it does most of them fairly well. I’m sorry people wanted Ridley Scott or Spielberg or whatever.

Why’s everybody dunking on this movie? It was fun. It did its job. I’m sorry you wanted Citizen Kane.

Kind of want Wes to make something other than a cartoon.

Solid doc about a guy I really like.

I had two cousins OD last week, and I still thought this movie was lame. That has to mean something.

DNF. So boring. Just a Lifetime movie with a bigger budget.

It’s like Jerry Springer for murderous carsexuals.
