• The Stranger

    The Stranger

a very american objective of fighting nazism one closeted neighbor at a time in a sleepy connecticut town of, surely, citizens not to distantly removed from slave ownership themselves. neither here nor there!

wellesian black & white gives a swift & certain kick in the ass to the hooligans who grasped toward color film and ubiquitously called it “innovation.”

  • Blow Out

    Blow Out

blink and you’ll miss the blunt force trauma conclusion. in america your liberty is dead on arrival, but maybe you can be immemorailized as a scream.

the conspiracy is a little lame, not even as villainous as chappaquiddick in a jfk💥🔫 to nixon world. john lithgow murdering on behalf of himself and not the completely denigrated political class is just alright.

quintessentially american oblivion—it’s beautiful, but in a way, incomparable to it’s source material.

  • The Count of Monte Cristo

    The Count of Monte Cristo

by a sheer stroke of luck we watched this on September 12, the date our main character was purportedly sentenced to death. a thrilling little coincidence.

the convenient, fairytale ending renders the metaphorical dialogue toothless. your morals need only be held close once your vengeance has been served.

  • Tenet

i’m not suggesting that christopher nolan can travel through inverted time, but the characters are wearing masks

  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor

a sequence of the most horrifyingly vivid deaths as japan ambushes pearl harbor, i felt like i was suffocating in the submerged hull of an army vessel. obliterating to watch scenes like this in the midst of a cheese filled love triangle drama.

michael shannon, i love you 🤍

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

you guys act shocked like you didn’t know girls just want to have fun! & the ability to pay rent on an apartment w/ beautiful, large windows!

don’t understand the scorsese comparisons but that opening long shot that followed destiny as she snaked her way through the barren back hallways & into the club did make me think i was supposed to be remembering raging bull. and i did so it worked!

    reminded me of 21

  • A Summer's Tale

    A Summer's Tale

what i mean to say is that scene in the princess diaries where paulo looks at mia for the first time and exclaims, a bit frightfully, “ah! — she is gorgeous.” (@ 0:30)

what i mean to say is if you’re young and imprisoned in a spiral of depressive self involvement, this is for you 🤍

  • The Sacrifice

    The Sacrifice

there’s nothing left to do. you’ve already sacrificed your humanity to be a magnificent self. congratulations, you may watch the world burn and appreciate the poetic aesthetics of the destruction. sacrifice your possessions if you will, your inaction has already condemned us all.
