A very solid romcon effort! Funny but not too absurd, campy and melodramatic but believable often enough. Though it didn't break any new ground in terms of filmmaking or narrative, everything was consistently competent.
Mascarpone didn't necessarily feel like a grand deconstruction of its genre, but it at least reflected the realities of contemporary gay existence and had some decently interesting points to make. The baking storyline, though, said so little about its subject matter that it felt completely interchangeable with anything else. Also, one particular late-game twist may have been a bit too much, but apart from that, it was precisely what you would expect and want from this kind of movie.
