Three Tidy Tigers Tied a Tie Tighter

Three Tidy Tigers Tied a Tie Tighter ★★★★

Good stuff. Hit the sweet spot of being simultaneously aggravatingly artsy and enjoyably schlocky.

Loved the weird soundtrack that sounded like something you'd hear while playing an indie game with less than 100 downloads or watching an obscure European animated movie from the 80s – though arguably pretty terrible, it added a nice touch of absurdity to the setting and contrasted nicely with the later musical numbers.

For a movie that was very shamelessly a bunch of random shit happening, it felt pretty cohesive! The extensive and entirely non-diegetic musical sequence felt like it fit in coherently in how it incorporated a bunch of side characters and iconography introduced earlier; it was less of an unrelated subplot and more of an audiovisual summation of the entire thing.

Campy throughout, funny in a way that cares little about the line between irony and sincerity, horny as hell, have to like it. Any movie that includes scenes of adult baby fetishism and a queer person reuniting with their dead lover within minutes of each other is worth something in my book. The translated title is a bit too much, though, it kind of abandons the hint of melancholy of the original. I imagine the translator tried to think of a synonym for sad that starts with the letter T for five hours and then just gave up.
