Mr. Kindergelt’s review published on Letterboxd:
Yi Yi is a film defined by its elegance. Watching the picture can be compared to observing a single couple, gracefully dancing their way across the prodigious ballroom floor. Utilizing the space our characters inhabit, much like a dancer will utilize their own, Yang contently explores the natural forces that push forth the nature of time. In between such imposing ideas, we glimpse at the minutiae, questioning their place in our processes. A triumph in showcasing the inherent reflectiveness of film.
