Quark Henares’s review published on Letterboxd:
Did the impossible— making me feel nostalgia and romance about a city I otherwise don’t care much about. The Marina Bay Sands rooftop and the Singapore Botanic Gardens are both tacky monstrosities, yet John Chu makes them... magical. Constance Wu is amazing in this film, making tired tropes and formulaic scenes seem fresh and real. When she cries, you want to cry with her. The cherry on top is the awesome comedy triumvirate of Ken Jeong, Jimmy Yang and Awkwafina, who conquer this movie.
