Quinn’s review published on Letterboxd:
My final honors project in college consisted of a 65-page paper comparing elements of this epic mini-series with the writings of theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer. I think that Bonhoeffer and Franz Biberkopf, complicated and imperfect protagonist of Berlin Alexanderplatz, would have been friends. They were both brutally honest men trying to find the responsible and honest ways to live their lives. I watched all the episodes (plus the surreal epilogue, the most surreal thing Fassbinder ever did) twice through for my project, and I'm ready to view it all again.
