    One of the most heartbreaking films ever made. Showing the brutality of a totalitarian state that crushes any attempt at artistic expression or individuality, and reduces its civillians to mere cogs in a machine, Das Leben der Anderen is a masterfully crafted piece of cinema, which uses its dual perspectives to show how there are no winners in a world where humans are not free.

    Becoming a huge fan of French films with very little dialogue, that prefer to do their communication through cool guys wearing equally cool outfits, smoking in very pretentious fashion.
