I was dreading watching this movie as I knew I was not the target audience for it but I knew that it’s inevitably going to get nominated for Oscars so I was going to have to watch it sooner or later so I decided to watch it tonight.

Many of the reviews I read talked about how the writing was great but Aaron Sorkin‘s direction holds it back, but I don’t think any director could’ve made this script work, it’s…

I love how all of Joan Crawford’s Oscar nominated roles involve her maybe murdering a man.

I went into this expecting Thelma Ritter to be the best part of it, and she was, but I was really impressed by Robert Wagner as well, he manages to do so much in his two scenes with only his eyes. It’s refreshing to see a man actually cry in a movie from this time period when vulnerability was seen as a weakness in a man. Honestly wouldn’t have minded an Oscar nom for him.

I need Steve McQueen to save Michael Fassbender’s career from the hole it’s in at the moment.

I don't know how she does it but Celia Johnson is able to break my heart with a single look. Hers might be one of my favorite performances of all time.
