I tell people my favorite movie of all time is “The Soft Skin” and they’re rather surprised by it or confused since they either don’t know what the movie is or think liking this movie that much is inferior compared to the other works of director Francois Truffaut (which I also enjoy very much).

The Soft Skin for me felt like something out of this world. Something from another dimension perhaps. The way it builds up and the way it…

If you've been living under a rock or just had never given it a thought; Christian Gonzalez's Mujeres De Medianoche (1990) is a remake of an old comedy movie from 1956 entitled “El Chismoso De La Ventana” (aka "The Window Gossip"). It took me a pretty long time to watch it considering it never got a home video release (at least to my knowledge) and TV airings of the movie are scarce. Finally though, I was able to watch the…

    Cool gore. Lukewarm remake.

A unique & strange tale of 2 cabaret ladies in a boat with an almost all-dead crew (not the fault of the ladies of course). One guy barely survived the masacre and proceeds to just go along with the 2 ladies whom sing & dance through out the journey to… relatively nowhere.

    A must see for sure.

The year is 1991. You're in a dirty little dance hall somewhere in Mexico. Inside that dance hall, you see all these scrappy couples dancing the night away to cumbia songs. Ever wonder who these people are? What are their names? What do they do when they're not dancing? Do you really want to know? Well then, watch Ritmo, Traicion y Muerte: La Cumbia Asesina ( aka "Rhythm, Betrayal & Death: The Killer Cumbia") to find out!

    In the opening of…

A twisted & hilarious 21st century John Waters-inspired/Heathers/Fight Club/Mean Girls fever dream with lots of blood coming out the mouth.

From the very first announcement, I had a gut feeling that “Bottoms” was going to be something super different & I just had to see it.

My favorite movie of the year for sure.
