Susie, do you know anything about... witches?

I’m going to make this fairly brief because there’s not a whole lot I could say about this that hasn’t already been said. Instead, I'd like to take a few moments to give a little personal anecdote about myself. There are a few pivotal films that I’ve watched over the years that I feel like, in terms of how they’ve helped form my taste in movies, I could divide my life into two…

Okay, so I regret putting off watching this for so long. We've been on an 80's slasher/horror binge as of late, and this pretty much skyrocketed to the top of my list. Completely honest - It's been a long time since something has genuinely creeped me out and gotten under my skin as much as THAT scene. Instant favorite, and a slasher staple.

Wow, this just sucked. If I had to say something positive about it as I often try to do, I did like some of the visuals in it, and I just love Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga - even if they are just silly caricatures of themselves in this one. At least give them somewhat of a script to work with, sheesh. This wasn’t scary, this wasn’t creepy, this wasn’t entertaining, and it certainly didn’t fucking need to be nearly 2…

Not as good as the first, still pretty enjoyable. Plays out like a theme park ride, not necessarily a bad thing - it’s obviously well-directed by Wan but I’m just less and less into that sort of thing as time goes on. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are always killing it in these movies, though. What a great duo.

Damien... Keep making movies and I’ll keep buying tickets.

I enjoyed this movie for the same reasons why my wife didn’t enjoy it as much, and I completely understand both sides. This movie - while it does have emotional elements, is fairly hollow at its core. It spends more time on what happened instead of lingering too much on the who and why. If it wasn’t such an incredibly well directed movie, this would bother me a bit more.

    I love the…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I am so incredibly thrilled with this film. I could have easily walked out of the auditorium when we finished and walked straight into another to watch it again. This, for me, is not only one of the best animated movies in years - but one of the best superhero movies of all time. You could just feel the love that went into making this movie. It felt like a comic book was jumping off of the pages onto the screen…
