The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

By far, Smaug has to be the coolest and most impressive CGI character to ever be created. There's something incredibly more terrifying when a villain has proper manners and a polite manner of speaking. Yelling can be intimidating but having a sinister calmness and confidence is much more frightening.

    Also,
    Bombur. Fucking. Barrel. Scene.
One of the best scenes I've ever seen.

    The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

I freaking loved it. It had a very different tone than the LOTR movies but the magic and immersion was still there. I don't know what people are talking about it being "slow", not a minute of it seemed wasted. Epic fight scenes, the Gollum scene was really interesting to watch. I also actually liked the idea of not showing the dragon right away very much. That created tension, and did not give away everything.

And holy fucking shit, that scenery. Somebody could compile all of the landscape shots from these movies and I would pay money to see it.

Is there anyone else but Nic Cage who could pull off this breathtaking meditation on love and loss and also give a deadpan serious reading of the line, *”I don’t fuck my pig.”*

Spider-Man: No Way Home is genuinely the best spiderman movie ever made thus far.

A lot of my praise goes to Willem Dafoe. He is truly a force of nature and in the middle of so many famous names, he managed to completely steal the scene every time he was on screen. That man can truly act. He shined brighter than I thought possible.
