Odd that they spent equal screen time on Taraji P. Henson's bladder habits and the science behind getting people into space...a truly odd choice. And, then, to have Kevin Costner single-handedly abolish segregation at Nasa with a crowbar further solidifying that odd choice. Inadvertently, instead of coming across as this rousing victory, I saw it more as Costner implementing a bit of Kaizen...the only reason he did this was for efficiency's sake. He was losing 40 minutes a pop for some bathroom breaks and he wasn't having that anymore.
The writing is the worst aspect of this. Especially, the way in which it handles racism and segregation as it shows one need only deliver a few choice words coupled with some conviction and no more separate bathrooms, coffee pots and/or engineering classes.
