A review of this movie might be inadequate if it doesn't go below the surface, but damn, what you see and hear are so interesting, Shelley Duvall's running mundane dialog is just fascinating and the So Cal desert images evoke feelings within the viewer that maybe when you finish watching and soaking in what you've seen and felt, it may be more about what it did to you, the swinging singles lifestyle and anomie and then you have to turn it around to try to explain what it was about the film that did it to you. This film has intimate connections with its audience of viewers unlike most others. They go deeper into your mind and soul. I'm just rambling on here, but there weren't any moments that I wasn't absorbed.
