How can a movie be so effortlessly charming and likeable? This was genuinely incredible. Superb animation, an amazingly witty and funny script, and just so much heart. Wes Anderson’s directing style accommodates Roald Dahl’s writing so well it’s uncanny. Plus some of it’s underlying themes are surprisingly really deep. This is definitely one of my favourite of Wes’s films. Also, the Willem Dafoe rat is my favourite thing ever now.
