“I am big.. It’s the pictures that got small”.
So Apparently ‘Sunset Boulevard’ is one of Donald Trumps favorite films - and that is the only bad thing I have to say about the film.
Apart from that, this is (to me at least) a near-perfect film. This is my second watch - I liked it alot the first time, but I absolutely adored it the second time. From the iconic opening shot of the young man who always wanted a pool - to the flawless performances from Holden and Swanson - to Wilder, Brackett and Marshmans amazing screenplay - to John F. Seitz’ gorgeous cinematography. And I could go on. It’s tragic, darkly funny and ever so quoteable.
I would love to see the stageplay some day.
