“You don’t look happy.”
‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’ joins the exclusive list of good films I don’t ever want to watch again. A list that also includes titles like ‘Requiem for a Dream’ and ‘The Elephant Man’.
This was absolutely terrifying and heartbreaking from start to finish. Swinton delivers a career-best performance and we get to feel both hatred, disgust and pity for her character. Miller is great as well - his performance as Kevin is like watching a ticking bomb.
The story is magnificently told and the tension builds and builds until we reach the climax. And holy hell in a hoolahoop, that climax.. It made me sick to my stomach.
The scariest part about ‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’ is that every single beat of the story felt real. And the film feels as important as ever - So yes. We ALL need to talk about Kevin.
