I've watched this so many times and it's still as brilliantly funny and entertaining as ever. Even though I don't particularly like musicals or songs in movies, I totally dig the musical interludes here. The segment with Chico playing the piano is fantastic. A true classic.
For a documentary film that looks like it's trying to get a point across, facts and exposition are troublingly scarce. The main idea is presented and then there's just rambling, rambling and more rambling. The subject would be great for a short TV piece, but definitely not worth the time as it's treated here.
An allegedly super funny crime movie that unfortunately only works half the time for me. I get what the film tries to do and its witty meta humor, but for some reason I don't enjoy it as much as almost everyone else seems to. I guess the fact that I find Robert Downey Jr.'s character a bit unbearable must have something to do with it. An entertaining flick nonetheless.
A nice bittersweet romantic comedy. This is mostly a Hollywood feel-good film, full of artificiality that however feels mostly charming rather than nerve-racking, and with a touch of bitterness that makes the difference: as the narrator of the film says, this is a boy meets girl story, but not a love story. The non-linear structure of the film is one of its biggest strengths, and the way the changes in time are illustrated is a nice touch. I love the…
