Thelma ★★★

Joachim Trier goes back home after a lackluster Louder Than Bombs, though I don't know if it's much of an improvement.

Eili Harboe is fantastic and Kaya Wilkins is a goddess, but there's not much else. I thought that the score was severely lacking, and something more intense a la The Killing of a Sacred Deer would have elevated the tension a great deal. As is, it's rarely frightening or suspenseful.
