If anything this is an anti-revenge movie. Such a devastating portrait of loss, love, and finding the meaningful in the meaningless world. Not to be subdued is it's touch on the human/animal bond and takedown of the culinary elite. Nic Cage absolutely crushes with his tenderness and vulnerability. I dont know if maybe my time in veterinary medicine had an affect but THAT scene brought me to tears almost like I was in the room. I haven't been this shaken or moved by a picture in a while. What a weird, enriching world it creates. Seek it out.

Sending your starters back in to close the game is never a good sign. So the minute JJ Abrams was announced to be returning and conclude this trilogy, I grew worried. His nature of style over substance and mystery box storytelling only went so far in The Force Awakens, and all of his projects for that matter. It's clear either he really hated The Last Jedi or somebody behind the scenes did.
