Ryan Daniel’s review published on Letterboxd:
“I don’t like suspense. I don’t even like suspense movies. Fuck Alfred Hitchcock. And that M. Shamal Night? That motherfucker can kiss my ass too. Makes me nervous.”
“Always a twist.”
^ I absolutely lost it when she said that.
This film is funny, it’s very relevant, it’s excellently made, and it has a lot of heart. For a directorial debut, this was very strong, and I really enjoyed the cast’s chemistry. I could see why some people say that it should be a little less in your face and a little more ambiguous, but regardless of that, it’s still a fantastic film. Looking forward to what Casal and Diggs come up with next.
