Ryan Daniel’s review published on Letterboxd:
The worst part of this movie is the waste of Amy Adam’s and Glenn Close’s talent. This is clearly not either of their best performances, but with a better script they really could have done something with this, especially because the acting was already very solid - even with this ballsack of a story.
I’m not gonna get too into it because it’s just not worth it, but the main problem is that this movie is that it reinforces stereotypes that were meant to be confronted by this film. A complete and total missed opportunity for something that could have been great. Blatant Oscar bait if I’ve ever seen it.
