Ryan Daniel’s review published on Letterboxd:
The way this film plays with, and almost assaults the audience with its extremely experimental sound design gives an incredibly immersive experience into the head of a drummer losing his hearing. Very rarely are sound and silence used together in such powerful ways.
Riz Ahmed’s performance is one of the best of the year, and compliments the grittiness of the sound design perfectly. Don’t overlook Paul Raci either, he deserves a lot more attention for his performance. Definitely one of the best films to come out of 2020.
