I love a love story where they don’t end up together in the end. It’s always refreshing after so many films and books try to tell you it always works out to see that most people don’t end up together and that’s okay. Everything about the film was carefully crafted as the attraction is clear but both push back against it in subtle ways. The end at Angkor was a brilliant callback to an earlier scene that succeeded in leaving a feeling of forlorness that lingered for days.
