Well, I doubt I’ll make a whole lot of friends with this opinion. Maybe this isn’t as spicy as my takes on stuff like Wish Dragon, Ready Player One, or Paw Patrol: The Movie, but I have seen a fair amount of people slamming this one (including an ex fan of mine who more or less treated this like Music). However, after I saw it, I must say, it’s pretty good!
Now, yes, the writing and pacing were very weak. The film’s writer is extremely inexperienced and it shows, with some confusing plot decisions and a feeling that it could’ve done more with its concepts. Despite this, I still liked a lot of what MVoM provided. The direction was very distincly Sam Raimi with a great horror-like atmosphere, the visuals were incredible, the actors did well, and get your pitchforks and torches ready, but I liked Wanda’s development here even if it wasn’t paced all that well!
So yeah, although Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has its detractors, and although it’s not very well written, I still enjoyed it! Also, regarding the trailer for Avatar 2, the visuals look absolutely godlike, but I’m not holding out too much hope it’ll be anything memorable.
