Lee Chang-dong's latest is a flex of a film, showing calm restraint in letting characters interact without pushing events to occur ahead of when they should naturally occur. The pacing is borderline insufferable, only because the characters feel a little too honest in some regards, with a bit of the fantastic in some instances.
