Chris Allen’s review published on Letterboxd :
"Boy, have we got a vacation for you."
And a memorable one, too. One of my favorite films from my childhood, and I got my son to watch this with me, and he was grabbed from the beginning. This film is perfectly set-up. Great introduction of the characters, the resort, the possibilities, and the gradual reveal of the park breakdown. I think it's a testament to how good the story and film is that it can grab a 17 year-old's attention and work for him on the same level it worked for me when it was released 45 years ago.
And you can clearly see the basis for Crichton's Jurassic Park here with this film, from his script and directorial debut. The quote "if The Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists" fits with this film pretty closely, too. Except for the whole eating thing, of course.
