You know it's not that bad. I kind of liked it. Oddly enough half the dialogue is the characters literally saying what they're thinking but the plot is still a little incomprehensible. So I'm not sure if this movie has become so straightforward it's no longer so? Or maybe the reverse? Either way Lynch was doomed from the start by trying to adapt this massive novel and not having total creative freedom so I don't really see this as a mar on his legacy.
It's... well it's not like actively bad, and worth seeing for its place in culture. Plus more Kyle MacLachlan.
