This was a pleasant surprise; I went in not knowing anything about it and expected a typical historical biopic, and it turned out to be anything but.
The humor is honestly exactly what I want and more movies should utilize this type of subtlety. Really I'm just not a fan of the quippy/witty type humor that's generally everywhere and (imo) makes dialogue feel artificial and "gamey". But the writing here feels extremely natural and feels like it focuses way more on humor/wit through implication and tone.
Everything else is great too, I honestly was super engaged with the plot as well which normally I'm a little more distanced towards in Yorgos' earlier films. Super unique, and was the movie that convinced me to binge through Yorgos Lanthimos' stuff and I'm glad I did, as I somehow missed The Lobster when it came out.
