Some of Argento's sharpest suspense sequences and most visceral gore coupled with some of his loopiest writing, so, you know, great. Some of that loopiness does ocassionally translate into the same shagginess that plagued Deep Red, but every time there's a bit of a lull eventually Jennifer Connelly goes into a trance while a metal needle drop absoutely destroys the balance in the sound mix and all is forgiven. Also features what's probably Argento's most non-stop thrilling (and gross) climactic set-piece, the most bugs you ever did see and an hall-of fame movie monkey.
