World premier screening at Overlook Festival!!! Jesus Christ. So much feels, so much love on this film.
This is a sit-tense-in-your-chair, hold-your-breath thriller whose slow, suspenseful build climaxes to a heart-rending, intense end where you will either scream in frustration at the film's unanswered mysteries or scream in nihilistic catharsis.
Technically beautiful. Night scenes are lit practically by lamps, giving a sense of claustrophobia and paranoia. I couldn't help but tense up and 🙈 with each nighttime scene. Q&A with director revealed that the aspect ratio subtly changes between reality vs. nightmares vs. end. Can't wait to see this a second time to soak up all the details.
Director Trey Edward Shults in attendance.
