Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time 2021
just some rough initial impressions. obviously author-oriented readings are superficial and there are several major creative forces behind the rebuilds but it feels unavoidable in this case. 3 was probably the best feature length animated movie of the 21st century (whatever that's worth) and this is very nearly its equal imo. while 3 redeemed the attitude of cold, mercenary apathy towards the project which rendered 2 virtually unwatchable by transmuting it into a willfully exhausted, purposefully incoherent mess of amv…
