Persona ★★★★★

Every film buff: Persona is a masterpiece.
Me: No shit.

Ok Let’s get serious:
It almost doesn’t feel like a coincidence that I watched this on this exact day. Because right after I finished this film, me and my brother had a debate that turned into a aggressive agreement that, lets just say, got very emotional. Now this wasn’t because of the film or anything related to that. And the reason of this fight will not be addressed here, nor anywhere else. I think this should be private information and I want to keep it that way. But I will say that the fight I had reminded me of this line from Persona where Alma says, “I’m not like you. I don’t feel the same way as you.” That I think fully reflects my (fragile at best) relationship with my brother and it is what I see in the theme of this film, on how another person lives in the world is different to your own and what that relationship can result in. This film was something so absorbing that I’ll never forget.
