form-wise, the most 'me' film i've ever seen. stonecold banger, profound mythical splendour, artistic pinnacle - wow. one of those i just wish i could make.
watched this today to mark the end of its long run on broadway, and to cement the fact that while i'll never get to see this show live, it will continue to have such a long-lasting influence on my life by re-affirming so much passion, love and hope i feel in the world, just as much this time as each prior - same as it ever was.
the most ambitious, head-spinning, audacious, powerful, exhilarating, rejuvenating, stunning, flowing work of genius i've ever seen take a stage... a treasure to cherish for the rest of my life. thank you david & co, for what you've made together.
oh, pulp fiction... it's just one of those films everyone watches when they start to think "yeah i like films" and see that it is so highly regarded. and in the 24 years since its release, it has been so consistently praised, analysed, rewatched and championed that there is nothing to say that everyone doesn't already know, and i won't even attempt to bother.
but goddamn, it is a pretty fucking good film.
i'm beginning to get a bit tired of all these "classic films" being legitimately amazing and making me feel like an absolute idiot for waiting so long to watch them...
damn.
