  • Pinocchio: A True Story

    Pinocchio: A True Story 2021

Originally made in Russian then later dubbed in UK English then dubbed in U.S. English just so they could sound more Italian. Why?

I did not see Wanda Vision and honestly had no expectations or investment. Sam Raimi's light shines through in this, and I am very happy to see it. Not a perfect movie, but I was entertained, and really at this point, that's all I really care about.

Robert Eggers's most mainstream film, which is not a bad thing but did hurt my expectations. You can really feel the non A24 studio hold back Eggers from really going crazy with this. Still really fun and entertaining, especially with the action but kind of predictable in terms of story and characters. If I watch a movie by Robert Eggers, I want to come out disgusted and confused. This movie is very simply just entertaining and is a crowd-pleaser.

I think Nick Cage knows people find some of his performances funny, but I don’t think he understands why.

This movie made me both sad and uncomfortable. Pretty good movie with apparently more to it than just surface-level horror which is cool … I guess we’ll see.

Stop comparing this to the Dark Knight it’s not even close. Nothing will ever be better than the Dark Knight but as it stands on its own this movie is great.
