Maximilian Pegasus’s review published on Letterboxd:
So different to what I was expecting which I really didn't know.
Phantom Thread has some incredible performances. Daniel Day-Lewis goes out with such a good one. Vicky Krieps gives a great performance while playing such a character that I struggle to understand.
The score, production design and cinematography work hand in hand to mild something truly mesmerising.
Johnny Greenwood, you legend!
P.T. Anderson creates something so different this time round, but I say that with all his films. But he crafts this couple...this uniquely toxic couple extremely well in a way that has the audience on the edge of their seats changing their minds constantly on the subject at hand.
I don't think it's PTA's best film as of right now. But I feel like I need to rewatch it to get a better grasp on it. Mainly because of its ending that takes some time to really sink in.
