The mom's Pod Save America tshirt is evidence of the immaculate detail in this gen z Before Sunrise that hit me so personally and deeply that I almost don't wanna talk about it. The silly title misrepresents a pretty phenomenal achievement from 22 yr old director Raiff who brings to life a specific discomfort of instagram era college socialising/relationships that I guess I've never seen in a film before and, it would appear, exists outside of just my head. Screened this for my university's film society tonight and 1 person showed up. I gave him a box of cookies as a reward, and he stayed to the very end.

Half of this is just the comic book movie version of Succession. I'm still a fan.

In 2021 this is basically a film about the fbi chasing down a domestic terrorist conspiracy theorist with an insanely specific motivation. But oh how it slaps. The last act is, as with the first NT, a bit dull but the first 90 mins is non stop stupendously good, just 10/10 stuff.

Diane Kruger's performance in this actually reminds me a lot of Kate Winslet in Steve Jobs. Shoutout to king Ty Burrell.

Not gonna stop being one of my favourite films anytime soon.

Stephen Hillenburg was a beautiful man with a beautiful imagination and it'll be many years before anyone brings so much joy to children or a cranky old cynic like me.
Shedding a tear of the goofy goobers for Stephen's family tonight.

The most interesting character is the girl in yellow walking behind Connell when he walks into trinity in episode 4 I know her and she's really cool

Didn't like the book and this was only marginally better. Was in pain trying to find some subtext to dig my nails into but it never came. Loved seeing DCU St Pats canteen standing in for Sweden and a few other familiar spots in Sligo and Dublin but overall a fairly shallow modern romance saved by an Irish novelty factor
