Screened this for my university's film society tonight and 1 person showed up. I gave him a box of cookies as a reward, and he stayed to the very end.

Not dumb enough! The central Pistachio character isn't that funny and the supporting cast are mostly duds so it just gets tired. The Shrek and Bush jokes date it horribly. Carvey doesn't have the manic charisma that made even Mike Myers' worst movies so enjoyable. I mistook James Brolin for Burt Reynolds lol. Was hoping this would become one of my stupid faves but sadly not.

Some beautiful music and oh how I love foxes. Extremely quaint.

Stephen Hillenburg was a beautiful man with a beautiful imagination and it'll be many years before anyone brings so much joy to children or a cranky old cynic like me.

Didn't like the book and this was only marginally better. Was in pain trying to find some subtext to dig my nails into but it never came. Loved seeing DCU St Pats canteen standing in for Sweden and a few other familiar spots in Sligo and Dublin but overall a fairly shallow modern romance saved by an Irish novelty factor
