    The first hour does a good job with the "people are the real zombie apocalypse" ground that The Walking Dead would later cover again and again and again, but it's pretty slow, and I don't think the performances really carry it.

    The idea of educating a zombie is pretty interesting.

    There's some pretty awesome gore in the last third, if you like that sort of thing. I still liked the two earlier Romero zombie films better.

    The score had me singing the similar-sounding Journey song "Who's Crying Now?"

    I'd say mileage varies from story to story, and it's way too long, but when it works, this romantic memoir is very interesting.
