My favorite movie of all-time. It's an adorable love story in a sci-fi setting. Everyone loves the first half with the minimal dialogue, but I love the second part too, especially the Captain's curiosity about Earth, and the dynamic with Auto. It's a subtle environmental message, as well as a warning as to what happens when corporations control everything. WALL-E and EVE are great together, from the explosive beginnings to the dancing to EVE's desperate attempts to fix WALL-E. I just love this movie. It's touching, it has a great soundtrack, and it has that Pixar charm.

TRON: Legacy 2010
Tron: Legacy is amazing. It's not going to win an award for best story, but it's all about spectacle. The Grid feels like a vastly upgraded version of the old system. The soundtrack is among the best I've heard. The action scenes are awesome. I do wish it hadn't used the teal-and-orange color scheme though.

John Wick: Chapter 2 2017
I like a movie that can hit the ground running, and this starts with John tying up a loose end from the original by getting his Mustang back...mostly. The movie expands the lore by introducing markers and the High Table. The setpieces are great, with the Catacombs of Rome, the neo-futuristic style of the NYC Oculus, and the Reflections of the Soul hall of mirrors. I also love how refined and professional this criminal society is. It's a dumb popcorn…

The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue 1998
So this movie begins with a "Last time on The Secret of NIMH" segment in case you didn't see the first one, and it really shows how bad the art style compares to the first one. The songs suck. The caterpillar sucks. NIMH itself, formerly just a scientific institute, has gone to hell. The building looks evil, the scientists have minds like dogs, and it's all being lead by a super intelligent mouse. Surely this place doesn't get regular health and safety inspections. There's just nothing good about this movie at all, and it's a scar on the legacy of the first movie.

Mean Girls 2004
"He who fights monsters must see to it that he himself does not become a monster."
Mean Girls is a look at the timeless struggle that is high school social drama. The window may be tinted differently for some, but it's all there I'm sure. The movie has a number of famous quotes, a plot that goes into a different tangent about halfway through, and even for a guy, it's so fetch.
