Ricardo Franco’s review published on Letterboxd:
I personally found this to be the weakest installment in the franchise by a good margin, but it’s still a lot of fun.
The action sequences are top notch and exactly what we’ve come to expect. There’s a sequence involving throwing knives that really stood out, and another that uses dogs. With that being said, there was nothing that really wowed me as a whole. John Wick 1 has the scene in the club that really utilized cinematography to create an amazing setting, there’s no moment like that here.
I think the biggest issue is that it gets repetitive. There’s little in terms of world building, and eventually it feels like a repetitive video game where you’re just killing wave after wave of enemies hoping to reach the end.
This is still a very good movie and a great showcase for fight choreography. Unfortunately it felt a little stale compared to the first two.
