Okay y'all need to fucking stop with this shit. Why the fuck is every Asian American movie about generational trauma and a tiger mom who doesn't know how to accept their children? Very binge-able and highly entertaining plotting. However it suffers from a rather reprehensible worldview that continues to perpetuate the status quo and the ills of our capitalist society. Squid Game tries to be zeitgeist by showing all the failures of our society like the extreme wealth inequality, lack of social safety nets, brutalization and killing of labor unions, etc. And the rage caused by these is absolutely there but it points its fingers at the wrong thing - some abstract…
