Finally got around to watching this. Pretty generic story, with your usual Hollywood sheen but the family scenes of deafness were believable and realistic (for once I feel qualified to make this statement!) and I did enjoy it.
It wasn’t really a story about deafness, Sound of Metal definitely did that better, you almost could’ve swapped the disability for another one quite easily and the story would have worked, but I shouldn’t criticise it as this was called CHILD Of Deaf Adults.

Somehow this is the first Herzog documentary I’ve seen. Interesting contrast between sciencey bits and his blunt observations and opinions. Good docu tho.

I feel like this film was made for someone like me, that  loved star wars as a child, but realised that that the prequels onwards weren’t made for me and belong to a new generation.
Anyway, I haven’t actually said much about the film but I do want to rewatch it and might well give it a 5-star dating at that point. I’m glad it took it’s time and didn’t feel baggy at all.

it would be so easy to be sniffy about this film but it parodies a serious subject so well.
