I’ve been a fan of Gareth Edwards films ever since seeing Monsters, Rogue One was also great.
I really liked this film too overall, maybe my only criticism is that it left me feeling like I wanted to see a prequel movie to understand the circumstances leading up to the time of the start of the movie. It definitely would have been too long to try and cover that more in depth though, so a prequel (like is being done for the Quiet Place films) could be interesting, maybe not enough to make one whole movie? Perhaps a short film? 🤷🏻♂️
I do like how the film is kind of left open ended, albeit a happy ending to some extent, but it didn’t try and tie things together completely. So there’s definitely room to imagine what might happen next, would the USA still keep trying to destroy the child? Even though the NOMAD ship was destroyed it didn’t seem like that the fight would be over.
Anyway, great film, definitely recommended!
